How to Ask a Good Product Question

The more context you include, the easier it is for others to give a useful answer.

When asking a product, configuration, or compatibility question, please include as much of the following as you can:

  • Product model or part number
  • Product family, if known
  • Access control platform, if relevant
  • Door count or output count
  • Voltage requirements
  • Standard vs. managed power needs
  • Wall mount, rack mount, or enclosure requirements
  • Any documentation, datasheet, or Design Center result you are referencing
  • What you are ultimately trying to accomplish

A less helpful question:

What do I need for 8 doors?

A more helpful question:

I need an 8-door Mercury ProWire system with managed lock power, 12V locks, and a wall-mount enclosure. Which configuration should I look at?

If you do not know the exact model or configuration yet, that is okay. Describe the application, the equipment involved, and what you are trying to power or control.
